    Default web-x-tv over the internet

I user Iolite images on my dm600 and streaming within the same subnet at home works a treat .. Ive tried accessing my DM600 over the internet and i get the "(no video)" message when I open up web-x-tv.

VLC (latest) is installed here but still cant get video? Any ideas?

Press blue button, goto the settings menu and somewhere there is "zapstream", turn that on... reboot enigma(not sure if required but do it anyway)... check out web-tv again...

I'm not sure if PLI transcodes the image down to a bit rate the internet connection can deliver, but I know Gemini doesn't. you need to use VLC on a LAN based machine and setup transcoding and down-rate the throughput. even with Annex M you will only have 2mbit/s up and the stream coming out of the dreambox is probably twice that. the transcoding takes a 5mbit stream and then 'converts' to 512KB, 1Mbit's whatever.

just google search, vlc transcode dream you will see lots of pages with howtos.

Have you forwarded the associated ports and/or made an exception in your firewall on your router?

it's not that - unless he has a 5Mbit/s upload on his internet connection, he won't get any pictures.

A new beta application for re-streaming over the WAN (internet) has been out on the PLi web site this morning by Boki15. Give this a try, as he says 'it is in beta', and he wants feed back.

Bolts straight into MS Windows (so no need to do like we do with re-stream and have php installed) so would be plug and pray for most of you.
