Default scart.conf - what can we do?

    I just had a look at scart.conf

    #typ_vcr/dvb: v1 a1 v2 a2 v3 a3
    nokia_scart: 3 2 1 0 1 1
    nokia_dvb: 5 1 1 0 1 1
    sagem_scart: 2 1 0 0 0 0
    sagem_dvb: 0 0 0 0 0 0
    philips_scart: 3 3 2 2 3 2
    philips_dvb: 1 1 1 1 1 1

... does anyone have some experiance with the above ... what can we actually cofigure here?

... I was thinking if we can solve the 4:3 aspect ratio for 16:9 screens ...

I suspect there is nothing that can be done with the scart.conf

The DM500 relys on your TV to switch from 4:3 <-> 16:9 via WSS signalling or via pin 21 switching on SCART. If your TV does not handle either method or your DM500 image is buggy or your scart cable is not wired correctly or does not put out the correct switching voltage, etc then you are stuffed.

The DM500 probably does not have the CPU power to handle constant 16:9 display as it has to rescale the 4:3 image in real time to display correctly. Im sure the higher end DM's do this.

I have a 'full pinout' SCART cable and TV .. but still no go with proper swithching

... I guess if we monitor the level on Pin 21 of scart from the DM side ... when switching between 16:9 and 4:3 ... this shoud vary confirming proper operation ...

... will check it out ...

Finally ... could be the DM firmware ... but noone has confirmed this here
