Default Setting default CAM - gotta be something silly

Well I've been googling and playing around but I can't for the life of me change the default cam on my dm500s.
I loaded the latest gemini image and then installed cccam.

When I power up it obviously starts the common interface unless I change it.

    I have tried:
    1. Disable autocam, set to cccam, enabled autocam, exit and then restart
    2. Set it as the default in autocam setup, exit, restart
    3. Set the default and new cam for a provider, exit and restart.
    4. And about a dozen other things including retesting the above.

I must be low on sleep as it seems I'm just not getting it quiet right and it's such a simple thing.

For the record I have gone back in before a restart to check my settings have been applied. But there is no big save button when making these changes. Just seems to save when you exit. But does not persist when you restart.

I'm going mad. A point in the right direction is much appreciated.

    Default

    Press blue button.
    Press red button (Auto-Camd Setup)
    Set default cam.
    Press Exit.
    Press green button (Start/Restart Camd)

    Press Menu.
    Choose Shutdown.
    choose reboot now.

It should remember the default cam now.

The shutdown restart is the key as dave001 says in his post.

Most things on the dreambox get forgotten unless a soft restart is done.

Your dead right. I was overthinking the problem.

If I shutdown the box properly instead of pulling out the power plug it all works fine.

Not one of my smartest posts...
