Default LG Projection TV Model PF52A70

Has anyone found a problem with the above TV losing picture a few seconds after switch on.
A relay seems to drop out to remove power to the projector, sometimes returns, but usually just turns to standby.
    Any suggestions ?

These chassis have a lot of dry joints in their power supply
The last one I had that would switch to stand by was caused
by the red gun being shorted
But this might not be your fault as you are getting pics
but lots of things can cause it to go to protect mode
Can you see any faults with the picture when it 1st turns on?
This might give you a hint to what the fault maybe

    good luck

    Thanks for the reply best4less.
The picture at switch on has all the colours, but there is a jitter and some red streaks in the top of the screen just before it goes blank.
Your suggestion of dry joints could be right as there is no other obvious clue.
    I hate dry joints !!

Looks as though I will have to go into more detailed work.
The set is worth saving, but not at great cost, will give it a few hours and see how it goes

Thought an update could be in order.
After a lot of searching around the chassis, pulling plugs to isolate things, resoldering some joints, looking for dodgy crackers, reconnecting etc.
the beast has decided to work again.
Still don't know what was wrong, but it has been ok for two weeks now, waiting for the next episode.
