it also states that a muslim cleric needs to be there at time of slaughter praying as i know that there arnt that many clerics here it could be normally slaughtered chicken and the muslims would be none the wiser!!!lol all these chickens are brought in by steggles and ingham trucks ive asked the drivers which ones which and they dont even know!!!so the chances of it being halal chicken is very very remote!!!

The whole idea of having an animal slaughtered in a particular fashion is to ensure the product is safe for human consumption.

In antiquated times: the slaughter, butchery, storage, and cooking processes were all laid out in the legal documentation of the time... AKA "religious lore"... today these processes are written out in a legal format and are less likely to result in public execution for those that deviate. BUT, the net result is much the same and both methods are intended for the public's safety. One method, however, is antiquated and based upon no understanding of microbial life forms. Unfortunately, this one particular method, is widespread across a large population still living in areas that have little or no understanding of science and microbial life... and these peoples are being rapidly propagated across the lands of our "more modern" existence.

We are now facing a situation where the more Developed World is meeting the Dark Ages... but it's not the "dark ages" for them, it is their "here and now"... and when they're dumped in the middle of it (modern life) they are not academically or socially prepared to deal with it. It is culture shock.

What do we do about this situation for everyone's benefit? (If you're still reading.) Now you are beginning to understand the problem.

As a side note: I have no problem with the physical slaughter process; my family has long been cutting throats to fill it's bellies... most of it, no doubt, we ate.

Cro, I'm confused - you get on well with your Turkish neighbor but you "cant go to KFC (except to talk to the truck drivers there, apparently) or Machucks or even pizza shops anymore (because) they're all owned by lebos"?

I'm also confused by your claim that a muslim cleric has to be present during Dhabīḥah slaughtering, as I've never heard that before.

One thing I did notice was that we rarely see uproar about food being declared kosher, which is another ridiculous ritualistic requirement; perhaps the fact its practiced by jews makes it more acceptable...

Turkey changed from full on Islam to a more modern sensible system after WW1 when Mustafa Kamal ( the main turkish commander at Gallipoli ) became president and reformed the country. A lot of his reforms involved womens rights.

So if not for him, they would all be wearing them in Turkry.

Ah, I thought your food rant was related to the halal issue and the fact they're owned by lebos ...

No f*ck them too ban all ridiculous ritualistic slaughtering.

KFC is in for a shock when the muslims can see past the nappies on their heads and realise they have been eating plain old everyday machine killed chicken- minus bacon of course. Dumb arses have even spent their money buying everyday machine killed chicken franchises. Or do they know and are happily ripping of their own kind.

at least ALL food outlets have to conform to the pure food act, if not complain LOUDLY to your local council

personally i like lasting good food delivered appetising and still like to try foods from EVERY COUNTRY, so long as the food is prepared and delivered in an edible state...I'll try almost anything, at least once, if it's good, then more often if it's great...

in saying that, i still think a frachised food outlet cannot and "should not" be coerced into serving "local" or "Locally" acceptable meals... if it's a franchise you want to choose from the menu, before even looking up at the menu boards, thats how franchises make money, (change that formular at your peril) as others have said,

When the Mrs goes shopping we have found the best, cheapest, freshest meat is at out local Halal butcher, it could be due to the high Muslim population in my area creating high a turnover of meat.
We were quite surprise by the quality of the meat they had.
it's all got to do with if it's ok to eat, is it safe? if it is, then i'll try anything... well almost anything.. but I've eaten somethings over the years that are a bit different, but loved most of what i've had the guts to try!!

others should follow... you'd be surprised, you've just got to try it

as for losing the plot over bacon... wear rubber gloves and get over it, "cause IMHO if i turn up to a KFC and not get bacon on my zigger tower all hells gunna beak loose..." after all, it supposed to be a FRANCHISE which ultimately means you serve what your told, if you dont like it then open your own "K...F... chicken"

but dont rely on others advertising dollars and time... if you've got a better idea... then frachise it and.... yes you too can become a multi millionaire.

by the way, I'm not.... at least not yet!
When I explained to the guy what avatar I wanted, that wasn't what I meant!
