Default Build Instructions for Woofer Stopper Mk2 (S.C. Feb 96)

So as not to hijack Tradesman's post, I thought I'd better start a new Thread for this.

I was just wondering if anyone has the build instructions for the Woofer Stopper Mk2 described above (or a copy of Feb 96 Silicone Chip) that they wouldn't mind scanning the article and emailing to me. I have one of these and was thinking of connecting it in conjunction with the car horn, via another on off switch to try it as a Roo Shooer. I built it ages ago and can't remember which piezo speaker it used or what the function of the 5 position switch is. There is also a procedure for temporarily fitting a resistor somewhere in the circuit when you are testing it so as to lower the O/P freq to bring it into the audible range. I have googled till I was goggle eyed, but unable to find it listed anywhere. I Would really appreciate it if anyone is able to help with this.

I hope this isn't considered as cross posting as that is not the intention.

    Cheers Bob

Email Silicon Chip with your queries. Generally they are very helpful.

Alternatively you could ask them for a scan of the article. There would be a fee of course!

    Wink Silicon Chip contact.

    G'Day Cobber,
I note the printed copies of that month are out of stock
Photo copies plus errata are available, but you would need to ring them for costing and then place an order. Here are relevant details:-

Kindest Regards, " The Druid ".

To reduce the frequency to audible (10KHz) place a second 0.0022uF Cap from pin 6 of the 7555 to ground.

The switch or links select the duration time in seconds
    LK1 = 5s, LK2 = 10s, LK3 = 20s, LK4 = 40s and LK5 = 160s

Yes I had forgotten about libraries.... Thanks for the reminder mate. Actually it is worthwhile checking just what they do have in various libraries around the place, amazing what you can find sometimes. And seconhand bookshops for that matter.
    Cheers

Well thanks for all the replies and helpful info. I actually came upon the original magazine stashed away amongst a stack of old mags (4WD, fishing, computer and electronics) and books in my computer room. They were obscured behind the old Amiga 500 stuff, so it's no wonder I didn't see them. I should have listened to the missus and cleaned the room out a couple of years back when she first told me. But then again I would have probably chucked it out if I did anyway.

Thanks again for all the helpful replies though
    Bob

I've got a unit here that is in need of modifications

    Thanks mate

    Default Woofer Stopper Project PDF

I've tweaked Reschs scans and converted them into a .pdf file, so they are all now in one small document.

Uploaded into Filebox labelled as Woofer Stopper .pdf for anyone that wants it.

    Here's the direct download link:

Ive been hunting high and low for that circuit for some time.

    You're welcome.

It was a 'team effort' though.

Reschs for scanning the mag and sending them to iwacelect, who uploaded them.

I just converted them to pdf & reduced the file size & re-uploaded.

Time consuming for all of us, but part of what we do at Austech.... help others.

Thanks for the effort guys, appreciated..
Turns out though that I've the MKI model.. arrgh! Still, there's some similarities so it should still be of help.
Don't suppose anyone's got the MKI schematic around?
    Ta!

This does not mention MK1 or MK11, but may be what you want.
