    Default Lg 71sa1d

Has anyone sucessfully replaced a new DMD-Drive PCB in the 71SA1D LG Lcos Rear projection.

If so which of the old Drive board data needs to be inputed into the new board.

I got a unit with a yellow screen, I haven taken the drive board out of a working unit and the picture comes good. (so i can confirm that the pcb is the fault).
But the new board gives me a very washed out/pastle like picture.

I would appreciate any help if anyone has worked on these thanks.

I've tried the faulty pcb in the working unit and it gives me a yellow pic.
The brand new board in both units gives me a washed out pic.

I've only replaced one of these pcb's in a different model and got the same result. I rang LG tech support and they said go into service mode and adjust the "colour wheel phase". This fixed it.

There's no color wheel in a Lcos,
It's a setting that I have missed, i'm just wondering if any one has sucessfully replaced the dmd pcb.

new dmd pcb is faulty.. we've never had to set anything, maybe the one you,ve been sent is set wrong but never had to reset, maybe try "instop"?

right the dmd driver pcb's and the main digital driver pcb are set at the factory it takes approx 1hr per dmd pcb to set up colour balance, therefore all dmd pcb's and driver pcb are a mtached set.

according to someone i know who used to work for them

We have two of these monsters and both run very well, Our second set was damaged and i purchased it very cheap as it needed a new screen, but the one thing that bothers me with these sets is why after turning the sets to standby why does the lamp/engine/and Lcos driver fan continually run on and off at 2 minutes interval with a 10 second rest for hours if not longer non stop.
I noticed in summer the cycle is a little different.
this excessive use only prematurely wears the fans out.

Yes but the only problem is 14 hrs later there still running but this happens mainly in winter ONLY!!. In Summer they will shut down after a while. All I can see if still running that you will wear these fans out with excessive use.
I might try to get onto the guy that sat on one of the courses on these tv's because until now nobody in Australia can answer this question "WHY DO THESE FANS RUN SO LONG after putting the tv on standby.
What I do is put the tv's on standby for around 15 minutes and after that I press the power off. I have the full service manual on these (written by someone with broken English) tv's and all it says is after 2 minutes you can shut the mains power off but what I have noticed is here in QLD high Humidly days cause them headaches "EG" I turned one day my main LG on during at high humidly day around 90% and a green BLOB appeared across the screen and after 2 minutes the BLOB disappeared so I turn on the second LG and dam if you know it did the same.
What I do now and I've never had the GREEN blob back on high humidy days is turn the tv mains back on and leave it on standby for 5 to ten minutes before starting so that 5 to 10 minutes that the engine fan has been running and maybe this removes any moisture inside.
Who know maybe my theory is out of wak but the above is exactly what happens.

I spoke to a mate of mine last year that worked for LG and he told me it could be a Software problem and this is the closest I have got to this question.
Both my sets are the very last ones that came into Australia.

    Default Lg 71sa1d

Can one of you guys help me out. I have an LG 71SA1D, lamp was just replaced, lamp hours reset. Dust was cleaned out of back panel (2 fans)
Small fan was chockers full. Now set will run for about an hour and shut off
(no lights on front panel) then restart (white lights staging) and set will stay on for 1/2 an hour (single green light) and keeps repeating.
I seen on a previous thread that there is an air duct and filter, where is this located.

    Thanks in advance, Paul.

sounds like a power supply prob, you might have to get someone to check what is shutting the supply down, cause it doesn't sound like a protection fault

Thanks for the reply, will have service tech check it out and I will give you an update.
Searching around other blog sites alot of people are having the same issues and no results have been posted.

It seems like a common problem.
