    Default newCS and dynamic IP

Im trying to set up my brother to connect to my newCS. He has a dynamic IP address - how do you overcome dynamic IP's in the newcs.xml file so it recognises him?

    Can I use wildcards?

    EG *.*.*.* port user pass 01 02 03 04 etc...

    Default

Setup an account with dyndns or one of those other dynamic to static ip providers, its free.

Then enter the details in the Inadyn settings in the dreambox so that it will update the ip at dyndns with your ip.

In the newcs config file change the static ip address to the one you created at dyndns.

    cheers.

if you are sharing and he is client
why does he need newcs ?
he just needs cccam or mgcam or evocam and it doesnt matter if his ip changes every time if he is a only client

He didnt mention the client was using newcs.

    Maybe he wants reverse login.

no nfnovice is correct. He will simply be a client - and my question was referring to the newCS config file. I know clients are listed with unique IP's as well as logins so I wasnt sure if newcs needed to authenticate the IP as well as the Log/Pass every time the client attempted to connect.

If the IP address is irrelevant then a dynamic IP means squat!

    Yeah g'day
when I tested newcs - none of the clients had IP listed - worked fine
now that you mention I have seen it in some examples
    - but it is not necessary for normal client login
    - in fact I tested with same client from a number of different ip's and no problem
so ip on client must be for reverse login or someother black magic
