Default Acer Travelmate 370 Bios Password Reset help

    Hi Guys

Hey, Ive got a problem with my Acer Travelmate 370 Laptop. M2130
Mysteriously my Bios has been Passworded out.
So, everytime after powering up the Laptop, i am prompted for a Password if i need to enter the Bios.
I can still boot to my OS, and run normally.
But would like to remove the Bios Password which would then allow me access once again to my bios.

Ive tried all sorts of Applications with no luck. Bios_pswd, Cmospwd etc..
Basically what happens with the Acer, if i fail to enter in the correct password it halts with a Prompt 11614, which from what i gather is a Hash code that can be used to derive a ultimate unlock code for the bios password.
After this, i basically power down the Laptop and start again.

I have been on to Acer who are only too willing to perform the reset for $150 plus freight.

Does anyone have any ideas or clues as to how i can succesfully reset the password ?.

    Any help would be great.

    Cheers

    Ren

If that model lappy has a battery backup on the mainboard maybe disconnecting it will work.

Was there a Acer app you run prior to that problem that asked for a password ? Some of the security apps also write to the bios.

I also found these interesting and might help

Check them both before attempting these backdoor passwords
