Default Dream Box 518s (How to setup for Freeview NZ)

Hey guys, they tell me the experts live in this forum.
How do I set up a Dream Box-518s for Free View NZ, can this be done manually, setup satellites, tansponders etc.
The help from an expert would be perfect

    regards

which bit are you having issues with.

You should just need to set your LNB settings, then scan Optus D1.

The transponders are 12456 and 12483, horizontal polarity with a symbol rate of 22500.

If you have specific issues, please post more info

Hey allstarnz.. you dont have a step by step guide do you.
we're having trouble with a DM518, connected to a Sky dish (dual lnb) thats less than a year old.
were using the latest nightly builds of openpli2 but we cant get anything.

do you have a recomended image we sould be using or do you know any tricks..

we've tried following a guide posted by "bartender" in the geekzone site but still not having any luck..

    do you have any pointers?
we're newbies and any help would be awesome

weve mastered the art of flashing the thing, and ive had some dm500c's running here on the t/c network..

i have also in the past setup a dm500 with plijade for freeview but that was years a go and i am now having issues with the dm518 and openPLI2..
it could be the openPLI images or the dual LNB dish.. im just not sure..

it would be helpful if we could get a recomended and tested image to download and some settings etc.. once were up and running we should be fine

Allstars posted all you need to setup your DM with the freq's above!
LNB settings are required and are probably the only tricky part if you don't know.

    thanks Leroy..

using those settings hasnt worked.. i suspect that it could be the image im using..

thats why i would like someone to give me a link to a tried and tested image that i can flash it with.. once ive done that i should know if the problem is with the device or what im doing with it..

allstars also said that if youre having a specific problem to post more info..
this is what im trying to do in hope that someone will be able to help..

    dual LNB dish
is it a Sky NZ Dual Throat LNB for D1 and C1/D3

if so you need to set your LNB L.O. to 10750, 10750, 10750 in the Satellite Configuration Menu and make sure 22khz tone is off so you get Optus D1

if you want to scan and use Optus C1/D3 then turn 22khz tone on

and if that still doesn't help then all the steps are here -

    Cheers Mysterex,
it is a Sky NZ Dual Throat LNB.
Do i need to setup the Optus c1/D3 as well as the D1.. i have been but should i just concentrate on getting C1/D3 up and running first?

we have it working using openPLI2 212 nightly build but it randomly locks up or drops the channel. if we reboot it its ok again for a while..

does that sound like anything physicaly wrong or a zapped tuner?

    will give Jade a try..

Yeh the nightly build images are a bit like beta images. Go one of the images in the link I gave you above.

Try Nabilo Darkstar, it is as good as PLI in appearance and features but more stable.

This image is for DM500 but should be OK for DM518
