dunno why youd want to copy BD movies considering price of BD media..

In regard to copying/compressing down, there is a reason for paying premiums... and that is compression (or lack of) Most video on a BD disc is at about 20k to 35k kbps... your averge DVD is between 6 to 8, and DivX about 1k kbps. H264 is about 12k if your lucky.

If your happy to live with excessive compression artefacts, which are blindingly obvious on a HD panel, then go for it.

You get what u pay for i guess..

as it stands there are many x264 variations of HD movies available on the torrents, with these, your best option is a 720p panel and a decent PC. THis is becuase of the low datarates and resolutions in use

where did u see BD discs for $8?? I assume these are 25gb??

I been hunting for 50gb units now.. but theyre somethign like 17 upwards of 30...

yes u can copy 1:1, but most BD movies are on 50gb discs, and if ur $8 discs are what i think they are, then theyd be 25gb, so ud need to compress...
not that THIS kinda compression would be detrimental to the image quality, it wouldnt... the kinda compression im refering to is from 40mbps MPG2 to 8mbps avchd.. now THATS noticable..

JBHIFI also have a buy 2 get 1 free which is better than the ezydvd one. Too rich for me though.
