Dreambox to XBOX

Hi all any one have any trouble shooting tips to get this to work i have put in the Dreambox-TV in to the xbmc\scripts folder.

After trying to run the script it just hangs it almost get to end of the load process, no error message at all on screen or in xbmc.log

another member has posted he uses this instead

i use a .strm file to watch the the stream on XBMC.
just create a text file(notepad)
put this in it(its the same as if you were to put in VLC)



then change the .txt to .strm

upload it to your XBMC video playlist folder on your xbox.
to run it in XBMC,you will find it under the video playlist menu.


but i am not sure what he means.


any help tips would be great thanks.

what image are you using?
PLI uses the :31344 port to stream,i dont know what port gemini or any other image uses.

And that's assuming your Xbox is setup to be 192.168.1.5 on your local network.

The IP address is usually changable through whichever Dash you are using.

Change the value to suit.

its actually the IP of the dreambox,

before anything try to stream to a pc first,



then use those same values you put in VLC to create a .strm file.

again this is for PLI image.

I can get it to connect view the channels start stream but locks up on the caching of the stream.

what do you mean by .strm file???


i am using gemini 3.30 dm 7000 not sure what version of xbmc

its just a playlist file with a .strm extension

example:
this is for winamp and vlc
playlist.m3u

this used for xbmc
playlist.strm

i havent tried on gemini so i dont know if it will work.

he is not using zapstream on 31344 either he is using raw vlc

my XBMC is nov 2006,so i dont think its XBMC.
i heard gemini has trouble streaming,and that PLI was better for it.

I have installed pli iolite on the DM can connect and stream to XBOX but keeps stoping caching after a few seconds then play for a few more seconds, any way to tweak on DM for streaming or is this a issue on the XBOX????>

not sure,maybe ask jonc if there are any zapstream tweaks for the DM.

i increased the xbox cache size, (XBMC, ->settings->network->cache) this helped a little but for my money watching it on an xbox is useless way to much pixelation and sync'ing issues, also i just ftp'ed the m3u file to xbox to launch the stream on xbox
