heehehhehe they estimate it saves 30 seconds at the checkout..... wow, what will i do with all that free time!!!!!.

perhaps if I do it 10 times, I will be time rich! and cash poor..

but reading some more seems they may be asking from problems... although the banks are saying they will cover any fraud... which makes me wonder if these would be so easy to rip off, why the banks would allow such a thing.

just out of interest, would anybody know as this happened during the week? I borrowed a card from someone (as i had left mine at home , was a family members) went to buy something < $20 the person asked me to sign for it (I was expecting to have to punch a pin in). I said sure. but the sig will not match as its my family members, she said not to worry about it. ( I am a regular in the shop).... not that I hope to rip of the $20, it did make me think about card security.

not taking into account that I guess technically she should not have accepted it. HOW will the bank see this now? edit: i guess if i challenged it, i'd be $20 up.
There is the problem zigg....The banks and in your situation the shop assistant have totally differing views of secuirty!

Thats swipe and go, and its got a $35 limit.

The ones i thought we were discussing are the wave and go, the swipe and go works on any card, just swipe it like normal with no pin.

The wave and go however have a much higher limit and can be used to their daily limit, not to mention someone could read your cards info while its in your pocket.

Swiping is slightly safer while the cards in your pocket.

I am sure something like my megger would fry something in these chips, thankfully the credit union I am with is very security conscious.

Was just watching WinTV local news and they had a story on a product called Guard on Card. All you have to do is stick it in your wallet with the rest of the cards and it will protect them from scammers.

    link to the news story

EDIT this maybe the website for the product
