Hi all,
My wife's car stereo froze with the cd stuck in place and no buttons worked at all. It's an MP03-01, I disconnected the battery to try to reset it and now when I go to put the code into it, the code numbers just keep turning over and wont stop unless I hold a button in and when released it just starts rotating again. I cant get it to accept any code numbers at all. Pulled the fuse, replaced the fuse and still no good.
Any ideas guys?
Jesse
The jammed disc is the likely cause.
The unit will probably need to be removed from the vehicle and opened up to remove the disc.
Sorry mate, I forgot to mention that the disc popped out when the battery was reconnected but the code set-up keeps rotating through the numbers non-stop
Hi Jesse B James
It sounds like a stuck button most likely from a coffee spilt on the front panel I see that heaps as well as non-functioning buttons from damage to the switches and or the PCB from liquid ingress.
At the cost to get it repaired you are 3/4 if not all the way cost-wise to a better and brand name unit to replace it.
Cheers

Thanks SS Dave,
I don't think there was a spill but it does seem as though a button may be stuck as you suggest.
I was hoping someone may have come up with a trick to get the code numbers to stop rotating so we didn't have to replace it just now, the decks are cheap enough but thought I'd give it a go before replacing it
Still hoping for anything to try over the weekend, then replace it next week if it's dead . . . lol
To stop the numbers rotating you need to unstick the button that's stuck down. Push each button and the one that feels different that is the problem one my guess it's one of the preset buttons.
I still vote for liquid ingress(coffee,soft-drink,cleaning products) but i have seen collapsed tack switches as well ether way it's more likely going to have to be removed and pulled apart to diagnose it.

Cheers mate,
I let the wife know but heard nothing as yet.
I'll suss it out when I get home in a couple of hours but I totally agree with finding that stuck button . . .
Thanks a lot for all the advice SS, we now have another avenue to check out

Ok I also tried the 1212 and 1213 adding to the last 4 digits of the radio serial number with no luck. After much searching I found a decendant of my 2008 Hyundi SX ebo still had the blue card.
I had the right last 4 digits of the serial number 0179 but the code to unlock was 1391 so that works out to a 1222 jump in numbers so it sounds like the code can also jump.
Good luck everyone.
