OC error code on Ademco Vista 20A
Hi all,
We have recently moved into a house with an Ademco Vista 20 alarm panel.
One of the children unplugged the power supply and the battery has completely drained.
When the power is switched back on, I get the code OC showing in the keypad display.
The unit was installed in 1998 so getting on a bit, and wondered if the old battery could be causing this problem?
Otherwise, any suggestions on how I can get this unit back up and running again?
Many thanks
Neil

"OC" refers to loss of comunication between the panel & the codepad. I can't see that a flat battery will have anything to do with it.

A drained battery will not cause this.
oc = open circuit = keypad is not receiving data from the panel.
check the wiring on both ends (yellow and green are data).
what keypad have you got? itll be a 6128 (fixed english) or a 6139 (alpha numeric) most likely. If its the 6139 just as a precaution make sure the address is set to 31. but this shouldnt cause an oc error.

Cheers guys.
I'm not a techie so don't know what you mean by set address to 31?
anyway, I disconnected the power, disconnected the battery and left it for a minute.
I then reconnected and the alarm sounded for a couple of seconds, but now the OC error has gone which is good.
Thanks a lot.
Neil
