    Default DM518s issues

    hi guys

ran into a problem today, i was watching tv through my dm left it on and got caught up with other things, to see it when i return a frozen screen. not that i was worried bcuz i do get that abit. upon restart of my box i got nothing. no picture what so ever, usually i would get the pli image and then it would take a while to load. but nothing. i am using component cables atm and when first installing them i had similar issue whereby it did no work straight away i had to play with the dm settings. ive changed all the cables using normal av input still no luck. the dm lights seem to work properly but when i use the remote the green response button does no flicker. if anyone can help identify the issue, ideas to resolve it i would sincerely thank you all in advance

Have a look and see if dreamup can connect to it if it does just reflash the sucker

Yep....reflashing is the easiest option, I have spent days trying to resolve issues in the past, it is easier just to bite the bullet from the get go.

Also good idea after a reflash, set it up the way you want it and then do a full backup, that way you have a restore point if things go pear shape later on.

I disconnect all the cables to the STB,

& also earth the STB when doing dreamup

I think GW1 once said you can also damage the serial port if it is not earthed..... ?

Also.... what version of dream up are you using ?

try using an early one like DreamUP_1.2.2.0

yeah have done that just the com port connected and then tried the network port

Tried different Dreamup versions and tested on other boxes and they all connected
