    Which suburb?

You should be able to access Foxtel via cable or satellite.

At least one method should be available to you.

Why would you have to explain?

AFAIK you are not stuck with what they are offering, unless there some strange by-law/other rule prohibiting dishes in your area (Id be very surprised).

Note: If you are renting you will need to OK the installation with your landlord. If you are renting or own part of a multidwelling building the body corporate may also need to OK the installation.

Dishes arent only used for Foxtel anyway, maybe your are watching FTA Sat stations, or ethnic channels, or religious channels, etc. Some of those are even available from the exact same satellite as Foxtel, noone is going to know what its there for for sure until the see your Sat Decoder.

Exactly... which is the reason why I asked why they'd need to explain.

If the area is optical and operational, then Foxtel should be available on cable and if not, they have no choice than to install satellite.

Get used to it is all I can say. It's all part of the 'sport' of trying to circumvent ptv encryption
