burning disc with long file name

make a image of the disk with say alcohol 120
then mount it, you wont need to burn it.

Yeah, that was my first option, but the disk when mounted even has the incorrect name. I've been trying to figure out a way to rename the mounted image

Nah. it copies fine. Retaining the file-name is the issue.
