Hi Guys
Have had a DM800HD tuner fail on me, AGC only get 0-20% under sat finder. With a known working tuner I'm able to scan all the channels and get AGC of 99% most times
With a DM800HD tuner replacement I have the Alps BSBE2-401A.
I can see there is a new revision of the Alps tuner out - BSBE2-801A.
Will this newer revision tuner work in same dream box that runs a 401A tuner?
What are the advantages of running the 801A tuner?
And does anybody stock them locally in Aus who could do express shipping?
Thank you

Hi, I also have a dreambox dm-800 hd, and just recently when I switched it on the tuner failed, it says tuner A: none, but the night before it was working. I dismantled the dm800 hd box, took the tuner out, and on the underside I saw that a capacitor has leaked. I cant see what the capacitance is for that capacitor, but i read on some forums that for the dm800 hd it is a 330uF 16v capacitor. I changed the capacitor to a 640uF 16v one from, as jaycar only had that one that was closest to the 330uF one, put everything back, but still the same problem, tuner A: none.
Does anyone have any suggestions, or recommendations? Can the tuner be fixed? or should I order another tuner? I think its an Alps tuner, I have to check again to confirm.
Or might it be a motherboard issue? Thanks in advance.
I'd just buy another tuner. The new ones as mentioned above can also handle the higher symbol rates.

Changing the leaked 330uF 16v capacitor to the new one fixed the problem, tuner A: Alps BSBSE2, after a couple of restarts of the box.
Thanks Leroy for your suggestion by the way.
