    I am experiencing the same thing when entering ccam2 server detalis in client configurator, I can enter all details but username and password I can not. Driving me nuts

    Have tried manually entering the line via FTP and have entered the ccam2 line but I must be entering something wrong because am not having any luck.
    Have a look in the configurator, there is CCCam and CCCam2 and they are different. One you can enter username and PW and the other you can't.

    Leroy I have just borrowed my friends Topfield STB with EPG and it works just fine. The LNB must be OK. I have something wrong with the Ultraplus 900.
    Should I try reinstalling the latest Firmware?

    In cccam there is no user password option, cccam2 has that option I know, however its not allowing me to input the username and password. Pressing the OK button does not do anything, all the other options are fine by pressing the OK button its just the username and password option in cccam2

    ok I see what you mean. I'm not sure when this bug appeared!
    What you can do is FTP to /var/etc and edit the cardclient.conf file directly. The cccam2 line is at the end of the file. I hash '#' out all lines except the one I'm using.

    If you need an ftp client then I would suggest Filezilla and logon to your receiver with root and ultraplus.

    Here's a bit of info on Xcamclient as it supports MGcamd connecting to a Newcamd protocol server such as NewCS.

    No need to edit cardclient.conf, create a text file named 'newcamd.list' in /var/keys

    newcamd.list sample

    CWS_KEEPALIVE = 300
    CWS_INCOMING_PORT = 21000
    CWS = 192.168.1.1 20000 dummy dummy 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14
    CWS_MULTIPLE = 192.168.1.2 20000:20005 dummy dummy 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

    It use to work well on my old Bluey until that dreaded date 11/11/11

    More info can be found on

    Sadly the latest MCAS and Xcamclient 9/2/12 won't cure the Foxtel Blues

    Try 1407 at the username and PW screen instead of OK button.

    that's the pin for when setting up MCAS for home sharing between multiple UltraPlus /Octagon/Mediastar receivers.

    There seems to be a bug when entering in Cs details using the xcamconfigure plugin but I'm not sure if it's only this latest version.

    It happened with the previous version as well, further back from that I'm not sure.

    Prior to installing this new firmware I was getting a lot of random shut downs of the stb and the only way I could get it back was by flicking the power switch off and on at the back of the box. This would happen at least 3 4 times a day sometimes more.

    After loading this new firmware on thu night I still have not seen my box shut down randomly, so quite happy about that. I find it strange because I thought it would definitely be some sort of hardware issue that would be causing this.

    If you ftp the details to the xcamconfig.conf it works fine.

    Leroy, I found that the pin also works on the XcamConfigure on the UltraPlus 900.

    if using austar v5.4 dont bother with mcas 9.2.2012 or 7.2.2012, november 2011 is the the still only one that works for me.

    actually each new version of mcas seems to be worse than the last. jan's mcas took a few seconds to start freezing , these two are virtually instant.

    the most frustrating thing about this box is that all these New addons are coming thick and fast. I do like these, but the box still has major issues with its basic operation.

    more than a few pages of EPG data = crash
    not doing much more than changing channel = a crash or two perday
    the singal meter isnt acurate
    scheduled recordings often crash even if there is only 3 or 4 set to record.

    another thing that bugs me which i doublt is a firmware issue, is the av audio output, each time i need to restart the box a loud pop is created by the box forcing my amplifier into -Protection mode- , not only do i need to restart the sat box, but also my amplifier. none of the other devices i have connected do this on power cycle, this includeds my media pc, WII and Ipad
    i dothink this box is better than the basic austar box, hey it can record
    but is it a good box. im leaning more toward not these days.

    if the developers read these forums or there is someone in communication with them. please please please! fix the stability issues with the box and the EPG.

    cheers

    @madmacka

    If you're using 5.4 cards you need to use the Nov '11 version of MCAS. That's why I posted it in the post at the start of this thread!

    I disagree with what you say about the stability issues of the receiver.

    As far as comparing it with a standard Austar receiver, the UltraPlus leave them for dead. They upscale all the programs to 1080p when using the HMDI output. I've got a std Austar receiver and I know which one I prefer.

    thanks for that. I don't know when this was implemented but the 1407 pin entered once the xcamconfigure plugin has started lets you enter in username and password details.
