Default DM 500 & card reader

Hi, I have a DM 500 running cccam 2.0.9 ( started of with 2.0.8), connected to the serial port is a Mastera IV card reader with a NDS card, it connects up on 3.5 Mhz but can not connect at 6 Mhz.

Below is the script in the cccam config file, any suggestion most welcome.

    Thank you

I thought that the N D S card would only operate at 3.57 MHz with CCcam.

Jimbos correct, CCcam wont read nds @ 6mhz with an extenal phoenix.

Your better off with a 500 running the card in the internal slot and entering the following line in your cccam.cfg:

    SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/sci0 7800000

Some people on other forums state the dreams internal reader is hardware set at 3.57 but I notice a big difference in ecm response times by overclocking to 7.8 (in a 7020 atleast).

I don't know about the best but that Nabilosat V0.8 image with Cccam which I posted is working with internal reader on NDS (I didn't test this but someone posted) & ext reader with strange screen printed card

Aaah! now i know why ecm time for my card is always 300+

I'll try it out as well and get back to you guys...

my only concern is that overclocking will lead to overheating????

You should get it down to .225 or so. CCcam eats that for breakfast :-)

Your card won't overheat, it will be fine.

NewCS is an option if you want to use your phoenix.

Not sure though how you can have less pixellation than no pixellation

    like warbo suggested tryout:
    SMARTCARD CLOCK FREQUENCY: /dev/sci0 7800000

ecm time decreased and no issues so far...

Hi, Thank you all for your advice and input.
Looks like cccam will not read above 3.5 Mhz.

I tried the internal card slot and ecm time went down to aprox 300ms from above 500 ms.

Still do get some pixilation and depends what channel I am watching including the master dm 500( with the card), with newcs all was good, reason I was hoping to get cccam working was to avoid running a PC.

I would like to try to set up the dm 500 with the newcs internal card server and see how that performs.

I had a go at it but I could not get it going and I have a hunch that it too might have a limit on 3.5 mhz through the serial port.

I try to find my newcs xml file and post it, in the mean time any suggestion most welcome.
    thanks

You have a lot of irrelevant information in your cfg for nds.
