    Question Windows Vista and vlc network streaming

    Hi All
    I have been able to stream video over my network with window xp ok and vlc when i bring the web page up from the dmbox.
    My issue now is and not sure whats going on, i now have a laptop runing vista and have vlc on this pc and i am able to connect with the web page on the dmbox but when it come to run vlc it seems to bring up window media player not vlc.
    Can anyone help with this issue.

    I would install VLC again... easy option

    And when you start up windows media player don't let it take over file association

    or try BitControl which works perfectly on Vista.

    As mentioned you can re-install it or if you want the vista fix, simply see the attached screen dump. Press F1 and it will guide you through the process.

    Question Vista home basic

    Well guys i think i have lost the plot i was was able to see quite clearly see that i had turned window media player off also played around with set asssociations files etc and still now go, still get windows media player coming back went back to my xp machine and sure enough was able to get windows media player to come back on also off, then able to ge vlc back of course only by removinging it and then reinstalled it and all oklI did the the same by unistalling vlc and reintalling it on vista but still no joy any further suggestions
