    Default Alarm Connection in loft

    Solution 16plus installed by my local Alarm installer.
    I am looking at upgrading my loft insulation - and whilst checking in the loft, came across some of the alarm connections - which are the ' chocolate block connector' type [ think it is for the telephone line ]. As I am planning on upgrading the loft insulation;
    is there a better way to connect these wires,
    should i house them in a box;
    or other?

    Thanks in advance....

    Phone lines shouldn't be connected in "chock block" connectors, scotchloks are fine though, given they have gel inside that keeps the water / moisture out.

    If your thinking of doing anything to the wiring, unless you've got your cablers license it's illegal to do so. Might pay to get the installer back if you need the cabling tidied up.

    Panels in roof spaces are a bit of a pain, access for servicing etc, not great when you have to crawl in a roof to change a battery.

    Aside from being a pain, the roof space is not typically within the protected area thus the system does not comply to AS2201.1

    Thanks AdRock and Drift for the information...

    I will ask and see what the installer says about his handy work [ I have to ring him - to let him know that I found his pliers he left in the roof ]. I will post back what he says...

    Cheers
