    Hi,
I've just bought a Garmin Edge 800 GPS Performance Bundle (from Wiggle in the UK) and have this map ready for it when it arrives (hopefully).

Can anyone tell me how I get the Map working?

Do I just put it on an SD card and insert it- or is there more I have to do?

Any "secret squirrel " stuff would be appreciated!

That's for the Garmin product, not the GPSOZ product.

I don't think OzTopo 4 (the GPSOZ made version) is in the wild yet. I haven't seen any downloads for it yet.

    Seems V5 is out now.

    It looks pretty good.

Hopefully we can all try it out...

If it's the .img file just put it on an appropriate size SD card in a folder called Garmin.
Card must be in Fat 32 format. Cards are supplied in fat32 so no need to change unless you have formatted the card otherwise.

Yes- thanks its the IMG file -gmapsupp.img. So that sounds fairly simple- thanks for the advice. That should take care of my Edge when it arrives!

Do Topo maps use much more in resources than the standard maps?

I would also like to update the maps in my GARMIN Mobile XT.

I also have the City Navigator Maps -Garmin City Navigator AU-NZ NT 2013.40 NAVTEQ- but this has a heap of other files and I'm not sure what to do with these.

Is this a simple cut and paste- I don't want to muck up anything else. My Garmin Mobile XT was installed by me when the phone was new a few years ago, but I've forgotten what I did.

There is a Garmin Directory in the Micro SD card with a map image there -gmapprom.img.

Can I just copy the City Explorer map- or are there other things I need do? (I seem to remember some unlocking process).

Thanks for your help and now I'm going to read the tutorial!

Most of your questions are answered in the Tutorial.

Re your Garmin XT mobile, check in the main forum for how to use maps with xt.

Thanks for your advice and your tutorial.

I just have one question which will probably sound really stupid- but here goes.

When a Garmin map is described as "unlocked", does that mean that you can simply "copy and paste" and (assuming it is named correctly and has no errors) that you don't have to worry about keygens and the like?

(Its just that I seem to remember that when I originally installed Mobile Explorer XT it was quite a convoluted process).

    Thanks again!

Yep, unlocked img, when downloaded unpack the rar file & copy paste the img to the Garmin folder on your SD card.
No keygen or unlock necessary, someone has done it for you.

Edit; You may have to enable the map or select show map in the map settings on the GPS depending on the model.

So, as this thread is about OZtopo V4, can anybody confirm if they've located a download that can be shared?
