Thanks for that Sanity.
I got Netflix going on a MK802 Android stick thingy. I've only watched a couple of episodes of How I Met Your Mother but it works surprisingly well.
Did you change the itunes store to USA instead of Australia
I found appletv netflix picture quality poor. Boxee and Roku and Samsung Bluray player give less Silverlight artifacts than Appletv. Maybe it get's routed through Apple's servers.
I see its also possible to jump from UK Netflix to US Netflix, just buy changing the DNS, but you keep the same account.
As shown on YouTube guide.
US Netflix on WDTV
UK Netflix on PS3
All DNS changes made locally at each box....
Leaves laptop with fastest possible internet speeds, re page loading and latency
Many other good and free options outside using unblock.us too

Could you use the same technique to get the AFL International subscription package.
tunlr.net free alternative to unblock-us.com very easy to setup. Works great on hulu and netflix
tunir.net free, i found when i loaded it and had it operating that my internet speed dropped right away and slowed the computer , i don't know the cause but went back to a paid source and speed returned

I wasnt aware there was an AFL international subscription until you posted, so I did a bit of digging. The sadest part is that AFL was available via Roku, but the service was discontinued in July
When I did go to the AFL international sub page, it showed my location as USA as I am using Unblock Us so yes you would be able to subscribe.

Just done a comparison and noticed a reduction of 30-40% in speed when using tunlr
Is this to the actual stream you are watching that is slow? If not then tunir has implemented measures to dratically slow browsing etc whilst using their DNS.
I'd say the later

I'm no expert, but dont you think its going to be slower browsing some sites whilst being tunnelled through and American Server instead of a local one????
warbo posted a brilliant little program from Google that runs and trys 1000's of known DNS setting for your current connection, i used and it improved my 3G connection to being as good as proper ADSL in regards to browsing and ping times.
But of course, those settings are no good for NF or Hulu, so you need to keep changing your settings to suit what u r doing....
works for me.... and i'd expect it to be slower using a US dns, i have tried around 5 or 6 of them.... all make browsing slower, unless its a US site, then its about the same.
Seems pretty obvious to me....

No i mean ssslllloooowwww, not slow, I agree with you but not to the extent it was affecting me, i have 30 gig a second Telstra cable, thought i was back to ADSL1 there for a mo. May be peculiar to me, just making people aware that you usually don't get much for nicks!!!

Just set it up on my atv2. Great picture. Just one question I was toying around with a tv series and it just started at season one episode one, can you choose the episodes yourself.
I might look at the other services later, thanks heaps sanity for this post.
