as long as it is wifi, it is the right model.
i had troubles setting on up using unblock, so i had to use a free vpn and do an upgrade through that. afterwards unblockus or tunlr works fine. i will find the vpn i used, it was free.

My unit dosn't have wifi only a network socket.

If you need the android Netflix app that works which you have to manual load just pm me.

Looks like I should have bought the WDTV live plus (which is the wifi model)

No time setting in my model anywhere.

Google Samsung/Netflix or similar. Was on a site yesterday and they seemed to have all the answers. I lost interest when i discovered that 2009 models were unsupported, but from 2010 onwards you should get Netflix. As reported here on Austech 2010 onwards support AV2, prior AV1 and Netflix are not interested
All the best but you should get Netflix thru the TV and use your WD on another tv in the house

    goto internet tv

fastforward the 289 then rewind and select country.

then it downloads what ever aapz work in your country, could not get nexflicx to work, it said in settings netflix not registered, tried to add rego number to netflix site and it failed.

Did you add the samsung unblock-us.com dns settings to your Samsung TV?

    Try
    dns1 184.106.242.193
    dns2 67.23.7.56

Setting up Samsung TV or Blu Ray player

    Last Updated: Jan 03, 2012 06:26PM EST

    1. In the Home menu, press the ◄► buttons to select Settings, and then press the ENTER button.
    2. Press the ▲▼ buttons to select Network, and then press the ENTER button.
    3. Press the ▲▼ buttons to select Network Settings, and then press the ENTER button.
    4. Press the ▲▼ buttons to select Network Type, and then press the ENTER button.
    5. Press the ▲▼ buttons to select Wired or Wireless, and then press the ENTER button.
    6. In the Network Settings menu, press the ▲▼ buttons to select Network Settings, and then press the ENTER button. The Internet Protocol Setup screen appears.
    7. On the Internet Protocol Setup screen, press the ENTER button.
    8. Press the ▲▼ buttons to select Manual, and then press the ENTER button.
    9. Press the ▼ button to go to DNS.
    10. Press the ▼ button to go to the first DNSentry field. Enter the numbers as below:

    Primary DNS

    111.118.175.56

    Secondary DNS

    118.127.33.48

    Notes:

Use Primary DNS value if your device has only one DNS field.
•To activate the service, in addition to Samsung device you need setup at least one computer (iPad, iPod and iPhone can be used as well) with our DNS and click on the "Check Serivce" on our home page.
    • If you must enter IP Address, Subnet and Gateway (because automatic settings don't work), then try to copy "automatic" values . Gateway should be the same as your router (e.g. 192.168.1.1), IP Address is some unique value from your local network (e.g. 192.168.1.15) and Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0.
    • Changing DNS settings in TV or Blu Ray player alone is not enough. You must have at least one computer with our DNS settings to connect to our system and click on "check settings" when something is not working.
    • In order to see US applications in your device you need to do "reset" after changing DNS settings in TV/player OR in the router. Reset function should be available under "Account Management" menu. This function may be protected by password. Check "owner's manual" for password reset procedure if you lost one.
    • Vudu app won't work unless you have UN* model (North America). It checks model number and won't work on identical devices made for Europe (UE*) or Asia & Australia (UA*)

Could refuse because it's detected as an Asian model TV.
Generally Samsung 3D Bluray Players work with Netflix.
Can try one and return it at places like Jb-hifi if it doesn't work.
