Default Ness D8 + Ademco PIR

    Hi Guys,

I've changed out a Bosch PIR with an Ademco Dualtech.

I followed the same wiring and it responds. but the zone will not seal.

    Pictures attached

Help would be great thanks guys.

I have set my system to a 0 resister value. All zones bar the PIR are wireless.

    What do you mean by
I have set my system to a 0 resister value
    - If it is a Ness D8 the resistors should all be 2k2 resistors, it might be a new feature of the panel, but I did not realise you could adjust this setting in a Ness panel. From the photograph I can see a EOL resistor wired in - so if the new firmware lets you adjust the resistor value as you say to 0 - then that will be your issue.

Yes, the ness D8 Panel let's you choose the resister value used.

If i remove the resistor will i have to wire anything across the two terminals?

Not the recommended approach but if you remove the resistor you will need to replace it with another cable to jumper the terminals together. Keep in mind the EOL (End Of Line) resistor is there for a reason - it forms part of the integrity of the security detection device. Just like supervision does for wireless detectors.

Better option is to leave the EOL resistor in the detector and reprogram the D8 to use whatever value resistor is in the detector (usually 2k2 for a Ness panel, however they have obviously changed the programming since the last one I touched - 5+ years ago so get out your trusty multimeter and see what resistance it is showing when sealed) .
