Hi mate just pull the remote a part carefully and get some alcohol and cotton buds and clean the contacts very softly and the circuit board
And then get a HB pencil and colour the rubber contacts in again very
softly and you will be amazed
Hello,
Not the usual forum for me I have an older Sony crt about a 93 mdl and the remote buttons need a firm pushing down to work. Can you clean the contacts and is it going to make a difference? I thought I read a post recently here where there was something you could put on the contacts to make them work better? And yes I have changed the batteries.

When you do things right, people won't be sure that you have done anything at all
Worse case senerio, you can use silicone to glue little squares of al-foil to the old rubber membrane
Reality is an invention of my imagination.

Guys, How do I pull the darn thing appart? There is no screw in the battery compartment. It's about a 1993 model.

its the trumpies external oil gernels "bango joints", got a hint off an old guy once, he suggested boiling the copper seal washers in water and that supposed to make them seal better, never had a chance to try it though
