By close, do you mean, disarm after alarm?

The ness 5000 has another level of programming for the dialer, once in programming mode, press P 1234 E that's the default at least.

That will get you into dialer programming.

P 36 E option 3 on will set it for ademco extended format

P 57 E option 9 should set it for ademco extended opening and closings

    Hope this helps..

The problem is that every time the alarm panel makes a phone call, the cost of that call will far exceed the value of the alarm system.

What you can also try is open up the NESS 5000 control panel and strip out all of the innards. You can then use the resultant cavity to mount an alarm panel from this ####ing decade. You'll save a whole thirty bucks on a metal housing. Such a deal!

    Thank you ADROCK
I want the panel to send an open signal and a close signal but only can get it send a close signal only. I have allready programmed those locations but does not seem to work.

Downunderdan sometimes in the real world we have to use what is available to do the job. Yes I would perfer to remove the system and update it however in this situation we are trying to catch someone ripping copper out of an empty warehouse and putting a nice new panel on the wall may actually alert the fools that the place is being monitored.

Use Videofied, although its not retaining the Ness, the external sensors wont be visible and you will have verification so the monitoring station can send the Police straight away

Videofied is a good product designed for verification of alarms but it is not designed for evidence capture that could be useful in any forensic or prosecution effort. For that you need fit-for-purpose cameras, lens selection and recording.

Well, that's a better excuse than the usual "B..b..b..but I can't convince the client to spend any money on upgrading a 20 year old system".

However, if you read my earlier suggestion I didn't say you should rip it off the wall. Just gut it and conceal a shiny new panel inside it.

Joking aside, are there cameras in place? It sounds like you have a suspect in mind? If it's internal fraud, a mere opening report won't likely give you enough evidence, even if every user has their own code (and guessing from the age of the system and early security practices I expect that isn't the case). On the other hand, if it's general theft I'm unsure why you wouldn't want to appear as a hard-target and visibly upgrade security. More info?

    Dan,
He has a disused warehouse and copper theft, Videofied is built for this situation, he does not in my opinion want evidence he wants an alert so that the Police can attend and make an arrest

I can't convince the client to spend any money on upgrading a 20 year old system!

Another example of the low attitude some owners have to Security!
If the clients want to live in the 60's, give him a flower and walk away!
