    Default Victorian Surveillance Act

With regards to the use of CCTV cameras and recording in the workplace. What would constitute "consent" for the introduction of recording video cameras in the workplace?
If there is no provision in the employee's workplace agreement or any agreed conditions of employment for surveillance "consent" can they stop an employer from using CCTV by witholding consent?

    Default Need for consent

As far as my understanding of this act, if a person can reasonably expect parties not involved in the activity, to be able to view the activity, cameras may be utilised. Consent is only required in areas where a person may feel privacy is assured. Of course, this does not include and change rooms, or wash room facilities. It is still illegal to place cameras there.
