    Default Ness D8

    Hi All,

we're moving soon and i want to re=configure my alarm for the new property.

I'll be installing an external wireless reed on the front gate, i want to set this up to chime when opened. I also want it to trigger an alarm in home and away mode. The chime mode confuses me. Because if for example its on zone 6, it beeps 6 LONG times, like 4 times.

I just want a simple few beeps to notify me

I'm also having issues with my wireless reeds showing open/closed status. I'm using the micro wireless reed switches and the Ness Navigator D8X Version 7.4

no matter HOW i program them, they will not show the open closed status of the switch.

    any ideas?

[bad joke about Australian soap opera deleted]

Wouldn't an entry delay be more appropriate? How do you plan to come in via the gate without setting off your alarm? Also, how are you going to weatherproof it? I could be mistaken but I don't believe Ness (or anyone I can think of for that matter) make an external wireless reed transmitter.

    Default D8

The front gate will be on area 2 with a keyfob.

The front door reed will be on a normal entry delay.

I'm mounting the transmitter for the reed in a weatherproof box and using a HD roller door reed switch.
