    Default Recommendations for a NAS

    Hi All,

Looking at a simple network storage device to store files, and that can be accessed from all the PC's on the network. Doesn't need all the bells and whistles something basic that I can plug into the router and can store data.

Looking for members personal recommendations please.

    Thank you

I've been using a Western Digital Network Hard Drive which is priced reasonably and has worked well. It is plugged directly in the router and shares multimedia content and other files throughout the house. I've had it now for about 6 months and so far are very satisfied with it.

The link below is to one discount computer shop, orangeit, with a couple of different models. The one I've been using is the 2TB Home Media HDD. I have no use for the "cloud" feature.

I use a WD network HDD as mentioned above and its easy to use, the web if is very good and has frequent updates. The transfer speed is 20+mbps and much faster than my Linksys NAS. Shop around to get the best price, I have the 2tb version.

I've been using a DLink DNS323 with 2 drives mirrored and been happy with it.

Thanks Guys have just ordered the 2TB Iomega version in the link posted by DB. Seems to be basic and cost effective $170 delivered.

    Cheers
