    rainman,

You posted in a forum that cannot be replied to.. Satellite Services Directory (I've asked the mods to move your thread here).

They have told me that they are going to take over from UBIworld tv..and 2 months time it will be 15 channels and including LIGtv..Has anyone heard anything about this company?I was going to install it and installation will cost 65 dollars...and they will provide a box for it too..it is too good to be true ...

any feed back will be great...thank you
United Satellite are not offering anything, as they don't own or operate the service.

The channels that were previously on UBI were taken over by TVPlus.

    They are currently unencrypted.

Once they are encrypted, you will need to subscribe and obtain a satellite decoder from them to continue to view the channels.

So... I assume you are still on Optus D2?

To get the TVPlus channels, you'll have to re-point the dish and adjust the LNB skew for IS8/IS19.

    This thread discusses the process.

Just use the 11300 LNB setting and the TVPlus transponder settings already provided.

It would be best to post any further questions on repointing your dish in that thread.

how do I align the satellite LNB skew for IS8/IS19..the link doesnt work

I just checked the link... it's working fine, but I'll post it here again.

If it still doesn't work for you, enter the thread name in the search area, or you can look for the thread manually in the Newbie Satellite forum.

I don't know about Mysat/Worldmedia, but according to apsattv, even a 65cm may be sufficient, but I would personally go for an 85cm dish for greater signal reliability on TVPlus.

If the old Selectv decoder was loaded with the UBI firmware, that may be preventing changes.

    Both.

TVPlus (the forum poster) hasn't posted for a while.

I've just been providing answers with information TVPlus has already made known, or I have confirmed myself.

TVPlus started the thread (well, mods moved it here) so they should really be the ones answering questions asked of them.

They are probably very busy and under maned i'm sure they'll come around soon with more info.
It's going to be painful and stressful work to persuade ubi subscribers to fork out more money and painful in a sense with posting out a bunch of boxes.

I'm not impressed with the web site one page of nothing? Even the page is still up lol.
It would also be nice for people top know who they are talking to from tvplus. not surname but a first name would be nice and more customer friendly.
Anyway my friend time will tell.

It will only decode TVPlus satellite channels.... no other FTA satellite channels and certainly no terrestrial signals, so they are forcing subscribers to purchase another 'exclusive' decoder from them, so if you want to watch other satellite or terrestrial channels, you'd need to use your existing Strong box.... PLUS, have a separate TVPlus decoder, just for their channels.

If this is true, I tell them this, don't even bother, they'll go the way of TARBS and UBI.
These ethnic providers are never going to learn. Foxtel were even clever enough to use FTA retransmission as another sweetener for people. I think I'll stick to streaming thanks. My parents have had a gut full of crappy satellite services.

    According to TVPlus,

They will be changing to MPEG4 in September and providing their own decoder for their service as part of subscriptions from that time.

There will be a period of MPEG2/MPEG4 simulcast until all subscribers have 'upgraded' to the TVPlus MPEG4 decoder.

Are you using the new decoder settings or the old ubi ones?
Parents are still in the old settings and they don't loose a signal.
When I put the new settings in by decoder, it was working in the morning but later in afternoon when I went to watch it was all dead no channel working.
So reverted back to old settings and all was working.

    Welcome back where you being?
Yeah i'm afraid they will struggle a little especially if the quality doesn't improve.
Plus new decoders to pay for and there talking about contracts, like you say you would think they learn.
Foxtel although picture quality is brilliant apart from live sport all they do is show same shows over and over and over,it's getting stale not to mention so many adds they have introduced.
