Nice I hope you had a good time.
You missed your old m8 he posted a couple times after ubi collapsed but now his gone hiding again.(ill let you guess who)
Anyway back to TVPLUS they say it will be the same price as before but we will have 15 channels one been a sports channel and a kids channel.
No one knows the line ups or anything but if they bring back english mad channel and some other crappy channels it's going to be a hard sell.
Ps i don't even think they will have Antenna.

Parents are still in the old settings and they don't loose a signal.
When I put the new settings in by decoder, it was working in the morning but later in afternoon when I went to watch it was all dead no channel working.
So reverted back to old settings and all was working.

Whats the difference between the two settings?
I havent touched any of the settings since ubi.
Can you help me out its so frustrating how clear the greek channels are up to about 6pm every nit then nothing (bad signal) till bout 8am or so.

Your problem sounds more like an interference issue.... something turning on and off during those times... Eg: hot water thermostat.

Without accrate signal measurements, it's impossible to know what your signals are doing, but you could check all your connections are not loose at the decoder, wall outlet (front and rear) and LNB.

If you can post signal readings, that might help.

Is there any interruption to FTA terrestrial TV as well?

The deal RIK has done with TV PLUS is for RIK SAT to be available in Australia and New Zealand on a subscription basis so no it won't stay FTA

All the TVPlus channels will be encrypted in September and you'll need to pay for a subscription and a new decoder from them to continue to decode them once they are encrypted.

So what sort of packages and pricing can we expect? ie, Greek package, Spanish package..
What will the cost be for one of your decoders?

I noticed on your site Antenna Pacific is not listed, any plans to add it?

And when, roughly, will the paid service begin?

These ethnic providers are never going to learn. Foxtel were even clever enough to use FTA retransmission as another sweetener for people. I think I'll stick to streaming thanks. My parents have had a gut full of crappy satellite services.
Unfortunately this is the feeling my parents and other family members have.

They simply will not even think about purchasing or getting "yet another" STB to try the waters with a new provider. They have 2-3 STB's sitting here from Tarbs, Selectv and UBI and all these will be rendered useless as soon as TVPlus encrypts the current streams. They don't care that a new STB might be cheap if you pay for months ahead/upfront etc... There's no way they would pay ahead since they've been burned in the past and have lost money.

TVPlus needs to understand that pretty much ALL their potential customers are ex Tarbs, Selectv and UBI customers and they've been through a lot and most of them will simply not bother with the terms that TVPlus is laying on the table. TVPlus really needed to make it as easy as possible for these ex-users to come on board, but they seem to be going the other way by forcing new STB's on to them.

Also, ANT1 doesn't seem to be on the list and this was the most popular a la carte channel. Lastly, a lot of the people I know that were on UBI quickly turned their dish to Optus D2 to continue to get ERT World when UBI went offline, so these people will have to pay to turn the dish back if they want to subscribe to TVPlus which is also another negative and I wonder how many will actually bother and shell out the cash to turn it back.

As for your comment on streaming, this is what I've been doing since the demise of UBI and I've pretty much perfected my setup now.

I've got a laptop plugged in to our big screen TV via VGA @ 720p, audio is going from the laptop to our stereo system and I control it all via a wireless mouse/keyboard.

I stream NET, ET1, ET3, SKAI, Kontra, 4E and many other smaller channels from my home town of Kozani/Thessaloniki which my parents love to watch with excellent quality, and there are also plenty of third party streams available for the "popular" channels if you know where to look I also have access to a zillion English streams and "catch up" style services using this method.

I've been doing about 250-300GB a month on the laptop from the streams so make sure you have a fair bit of data. I'm on a 20Mbit Unlimited ADSL2+ line so it's all good.

    Cheers

Nah nothing is turned on at those times.
I checked all connections and they are fine.
A friend who lives down the road doesnt have the same issues which is weird.
There is no interruption to FTA all FTA channels work well.

Do you think it has anything to do with settings?
I have absolutely no idea what to do.
Any help would be much appreciated because i use to like watching greek at nit.

Sure, I'm not sure if this is the right thread for that though since it's for TVPlus. Maybe I could post them in another thread or send you a message.

I would leave at as is till they get it all going.
Not sure why you're loosing signal especially if you haven't touched the dish.
Try unplugging the box from power and wait 15 min then restart it.
The old settings which you have since ubi is only temp the new settings are the ones they are going to use.
LIKE I SAID DONT WORRY about doing anything else cause the old setting will work even after they roll out their own boxes which will have the settings already done.
