    Question Ness D-8 Tamper Alarm Reset

    Hi everyone,

    Have a Ness D-8 (LCD display verison) and I recently had to turn the tamper alarm off the siren to remove the phone line for an isolation test.
    Now of course, the tamper icon is flashing on the display and I don't know how to reset it.
    When we got this unit many years ago, we only received the led version of the manual but I presume it's the same. Can anyone direct me on where this is in the manual? All I can find is "call installer" in a table.

    Thanks!

    Cool

    What do you mean when you say you turned the tamper alarm off ?
    If you opened up the panel to do the phone isolation then yes the tamper alarm would have tripped. It should restore when you close it back up. Check that the tamper switch has not fallen out of its holder.

    I mean that the system was set to the siren output on tamper(ing), so I set it to only display on the screen.
    The procedure I used from the manual was;
    1. Client Program mode
    2. Installation Program Mode
    Then;
    'Program' -> 61-> 'Enter' -> Displays '4' for siren -> 3 beeps -> enter number '3' for display - 'Enter' -> 3 beeps

    Cool

    Have you put it back to how it was ? By default P61E has 1-4 enabled.

    No, still set as I left it with 4 disabled, wanted to clear the flashing tamper icon first. Should be a way to do that shouldn't there?
    Guess I should just try and set it back as you said, but surely the alarm should not go off!?

    BTW
    To be correct for others reading, above I should have said "Displays numbers 1 to 4" instead of "Displays '4' for siren".
