i View is going to have to be my go to in this case, still have yet to see it, I spend the evening watching some old (really old) movies I found. One on an alien invasion where all the aliens looked like Woody Allen (I think it was him, but can't find the movie I'm thinking of - they all had ping pong balls for eyes). I also watched "the Fast and the furious" made in 1965!
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

    WOW, 1965 ehh ???
I cant think of the name of this film but was remade some years later and it starts off with this 12 year old looking out his bedroom window late one evening and 'something' crashes into the sand dunes.
The head alien is just that, a 'Head ' in a glass Belljohn and has to be carried everywhere by 'its' minions who are all dressed in purple 'Onesies' and they intend to take over the world by kidnapping anyone who comes to investigate the crash site mound by injecting a devise into the nape of the neck which allows the 'Alien' to control their minds.
The original version was made in the early 50's and is in colour despite when it was made ( thats a tongue in cheek joke, Joyce).

I wonder how you will classify 'Metropolis' made in the late 1920's before 'Talkies killed the Silent Movie'............

Last night I watch a 1955 episode of 'I love Lucy' that John Wayne appears in and a supposed outdoor scene was actually in a studio and the backdrop was a painted flat.

    ****************************************

Try 'Invaders from Mars' made in 1953, or do a search of 'sci fi movies made in the 1950's' and found this one in Wikipedia.

That sort of thing, Tiny, but, no, it was the actual actor I was thinking of.

Isemmens, are you thinking of Marty Feldman as he had a medical condition that gave him very protruding eyes.

Yeah I don't know either, I think the story writing leaves a lot to be desired these days. It should screen again tonight so I'll give it a second watch and maybe pay a little more attention this time.

Apparently Pearl Mackie is only doing this one season as well, so we get a new Doctor and a new companion for the next season, hopefully some new writers too?

That was one thing that surprised the hell outta me when I heard David Tennant speak off-set the first time, he too has a thick Scottish accent IRL but you'd never know it to see him in character as The Doctor.

I do agree with you about the mumbling, I never really thought about it before but you're right, they do. Also, "Bill" constantly uses all these 'hipster' terms that most of the audience demographic would find hard to understand, I'm not sure if they're trying to appeal to younger people but it's just damned annoying to me.

As for plot holes in this last episode, HELLO... there's no atmosphere inside the station (it was quite clearly evacuated into space), the "force field" helmets are fine in there but then they aren't good enough to go outside, what, is this because of the 'extra' vacuum outside? And why do they even need an airlock? And if the suits aren't smart enough to do more than "basic problem solving", how is it they are able to reason not to do-away with the last crew members just because their lifesigns had been "linked to the core"?

Anyway, I would bet money that Clara (and Ashildr) will make a return one day, in fact I'm surprised there hasn't been a spinoff series created already starring them.

Ahh! that would make sense, my missus said that the other night as well.

I really don't get the vault thing? Why does the Doctor need to be there to watch it?

BTW, how is it that the TARDIS' translation circuits can translate any language in the universe EXCEPT whatever the pope speaks?
