    Default Digiflex Vision 16

    Hi Guys,

Ive done a bit of searching but nothing relevant came up. Hope you can help.

We are in the process off disconnecting our home phone line (never used) and wondering what to do about the alarm monitoring. We have a Digiflex Vision 16 system which is configured to report back to our monitoring company via the PSTN line.

Is there some way to add sms or email notification to this system? To have the notifications sent directly to me instead.

I have read the user guide and install manual but it seems the installer changed the installer/master codes. Now I dont have access to the programming mode. Can the installer/master codes be reset manually without losing any of the other config?

    Thanks in advance

    Nigel.

nope thats why they call it an installers code.
you understand the risks with it going to email/sms right?

This is normal procedure on the installers part & is to stop people fiddling with things they know nothing about

    Loosunit,

Firstly, that panel would send SMS via your phoneline, which you are about to disconnect. So you can forget that idea. In any case, 'self-monitoring' is a farce and a failure waiting to happen. The cost of professional monitoring by an AS2201.2 Certified (graded) monitoring station is negligible.

Additionally, not only can you have your alarm monitored without a phoneline, you are better off doing so as decent IP monitoring platforms are more robust than a phoneline anyway.

It's a shame your incumbent security company have never discussed this with you. PM me if you'd like some pointers.
