    Default Paradox sp6000 Communication Error

Hi, this has annoyed me for a couple of days, so I'm seeking any advice from with paradox knowledge.

I had a sp4000 with a tm40 installed in my house, recently swapped it for a sp6000 and kept the same tm40.

Programming was going fine, then I started testing the arming, disarm, alarms etc. So I put the lid back on the panel and notice the TM40 is displaying "Control Panel Communications Error, This unit is unable to establish communication with the control panel, contact your installer". And the message I get on a k32lcd is Comm Problem Contact Service.

I have done a panel reset, checked my cable connections, even had the keypad terminated direct to the panel, and I still get the same message.

But today when I turned the power back on, the error message was gone and I was able to program and test with all was fine until I got the same error again.

Also when it is working normally I have a trouble error "module supervision error"

I've found the message goes away sometimes when you take one leg of the bell out, but other times that does nothing.

    Anyone else seen this?

Guess my next step is to call CSD for some support, but I'm unsure if they would help someone that doesn't have an account with them?

    Thanks for any help.

You will have to check the cabling again from code pad to panel - is it new, have you nicked a wire when stripping the cable etc. If cabling is good either a firmware upgrade or new PCB.

For the module supervision you need to search the bus - in programming push 955. This is caused by connecting and disconnecting the 32Z LCD codepad.

I've got it working, I think it was most likely the module supervision problem I had, I guess its similar to concept where you have to secure the lan? I pushed 955 in the programming and it hasn't had any problems since.

    Thanks for the help
