It depends on the mapping used in the Control Room software as well.

If you look at the Concept C3-4k full programming manual (902 pages) it is spelled out in black and white how Contact ID in standard mapping is reported. Check page 751 in the pdf file. Here is a snippet

Account No. Event Code Area No. Point Description Panel Input
    OPEN / CLOSE REPORTING
    INPUT REPORTING
    140 nn 001 Controller zone 1 C01:Z01
    140 nn 002 Controller zone 2 C01:Z02
    to to "
    140 nn 016 Controller zone 16 C01:Z16
    145 nn 017 Controller cabinet tamper C01:S01
145 nn 018 Controller internal siren tamper C01:S02

If you need a copy of the manual it is readily available from the inner range website.

The control room shouldn't need you to provide zone details down to the C-ID level, mate. Just give them a listing in details such as "C01:Z01 Front door reed switch", etc and they will sort it out from there. If they can't figure it our from there you seriously need to find a better control room Another option is to have your Concept panel report IR-Fast format. So long as you have decent zone descriptions in your panel, the text is sent with the transmission from your panel, and the panels zone description is sent through in the transmission - the control room don't even need to enter zone descriptions when the panel is reporting IR-Fast. Another advantage of IR-Fast is that the panels clock updates with the receiver each communication (so long as the option is enabled). This is especially handy with Concept 2000's, as their clock drifts something shocking.

    Probably true.

Careful. IRfast implementations vary across different automation platforms and you need to speak to your monitoring centre before simply turning something on.

Again, well and good in theory but can cause issues when your monitoring centre isn't in the same timezone as the panel. Ask first.

We recently took over monitoring of a Concept panel and were given the previous monitoring centre's data. There were wild discrepancies between what they had listed and what was found to be programmed. I suspect they simply entered the data they were provided by a field tech (in this case a bureau) so it was basically layer upon layer of hopelessness which might have been identified had all the zones been properly tested. I suspect there are a lot of techs who've gone from their 16 zone world to a Concept system without any formal training and it shows.

Not all control rooms accept IR Fast.

Be careful with how you set up your system as all expanders will report the same zone i.e B01:Z01, E01:Z01 etc all have the same CID code. If multi areas try get the zones in different areas so there is a way to distinguish where they have come from.

just use sims2 mapping, gets rid of the issue where some modules report the same, but means inputs > areas no longer shows.
