    Hi

I had a trainee working with me today I show him how to do basic programming on DSC 1565 (Not Classic)
I went to the van to get a battery came back and he said all done system was out of program mode oh ok.
Swap battery went to program report numbers etc and couldn't get in.
I could find any were about defaulting install code only

Yes, here's an idea techy21. When supervising your trainee, do exactly that. Whilst you were away you would have no idea what else he has programmed wrong in the panel as well as the wrong install code. Default the panel and program it again supervising all of the programming not a portion of it.

Why risk ruining a good hammer, use the trainees head

You can always tell if you got a good trainee if they are WILLING to take a panel home and practice. The few that I have trained in my short time, none of them wanted or were interested in taking a panel home to practice on. And guess what today they are not in the security industry. Within the first week, I give them a panel eg NX16 and a installers manual with a few cheat sheets. At the end of their trail period which ranges from 1-3 months, I have a formal review process with them and always find out they havent even taken the panel out of the box, so its a goodbye to them.
