Default Blue tooth phone won't connect to TomTom

I have a Tomtom One XL. It will not connect to my Samsung Bluetooth phone. Can anyone suggest what I should do. When both are switched on I go to the the Bluetooth section in TomTom and set it going. It should pair but it doesn't, maybe it is just incompatible.

there are lots more phones listed if you enable the wireless connection, but mine a Samsung SCH-W531 is not on the list!
