help setting up a wifi and online server please?

hi guys/gals

been a while but what is the easiest way to setup a server to stream videos and music online to myself on a android phone and to other clients on my wifi network system at home. i would love it to be 1 peice of software, but if not i'm not fussed. any help would be much appreciated.

You could buy a NAS with tversity media server or something similar installed. Each of your devices can connect to the NAS over your WIFI/network and access the files. This way your PC does not need to be running 24/7. Install XBMC on a pc connected to your TV to watch videos and music on your TV, if you have a newer smart TV you most likely won't need to use XBMC.
