Default S/C/Ku/L satellite reception in Australia

Some friends want to install motorised S/C/Ku dishes to pickup some satellites (1 dish each in 2 locations).
The satellites are from 180E to 75E. I realise 75E is borderline as it would be near the horizon.

I've checked lyngsat, sathint, satbeams... and tried to assist, but need some advice from people in the know.

The two locations are south of Canberra and near Adelaide River (NT).
Both locations have very good view from horizon to horizon.

Is there anyone in the vicinity of these places that can provide some assistance?

    INTELSAT 18 (180E) - C & Ku Bands
    SES 7 (108.2E) - S Band
    TELKOM 1 (108E) - C Band
    ASIASAT 3S (105.5E) - C Band
    ASIASAT 5 (100.5E) - C Band
    THAICOM 5 (78.5E) - C Band
    APSTAR 7 (76.5E) - C Band
    ABS 1 (75E) - C Band

SES7 doesnt cover Australia at all, it might be theoretically possible to get out of beam reception with a large dish in Far Nth WA/NT
I got 99 problems and a crimp aint one...

I can get it in perth on a 3.7metre dish and designated s-band lnbf. so in theory if your dish is large enough and you have a s-band lnbf id give it a go

I'm not aware of whether there are combined S/C/Ku band feed horns available, or if they need seperate S and C/Ku's.

And, again not sure if they can be mounted on the one dish together (side by side), or would they cause interference with each other, then requiring seperate dishes.

Carjackman, do you have a dedicated dish for S-band, or do you have a combined LNB with S, C and Ku?

If combined, what brand and model LNB are you using. Thanks in advance.

I have a dedicated dish/s-band lnbf. you cant get a combined s-band lnbf.
you can however get a c/ku lnbf.

If he's getting it on a 3.7metre dish in Perth, it would be reasonable to assume you will need one a fair bit larger in NSW.

    Leroy,

    I didn't think you'd get Telcom 108 C-Band down in Vic ...
Anyone correct me if I am wrong ...

    Cheers,

Thanks for your replies, now need to pick some brains again.

My friends are trying to get away from having two large dishes installed to use both C/Ku as well as S.
Has anyone had any experience using one of these C band Dual LNBF holders?

Is it be possible to use one with a S band LNB fitted next to a C/Ku LNB (with modifications if required)?
Or are they only suitable for mounting two C-band LNB's (i.e. one linear and other circular)?

the s band lnb mount via a single hole in the back its waaaaaaay to large to fit in a dual lnb bracket.

Thanks. Thought it may have been too good to be true.

So basically, to use a S band lnb, you need to have a dedicated dish.

Do you know of any suppliers in Australia, or is the nearest in Indonesia or Malaysia/Thailand.

Because S-Band is not common in Australia, you'll find it difficult to obtain the dish/LNB holder and the LNB itself here.

Any of the satellite equipment suppliers will probably be able to order in what you want, but it will come from OS anyway.

is a good supplier of 'non-standard' stock lines, so give them a try.

Do you know any one going to bali ? you can get them at any parabola shop.(quite expensive)
to mount them you just drill 3 holes in the back of the feed and tap them out with a thread so you can bolt on the legs of the dish.
or grab a Chinese one here..
