    Default netgear dgn1000

    hi to all
    i'll get straight to the point i have a netgear dgn1000 adsl 2+ wireless 4port modem that i' trying to connect to telstra bigpond did all the usual things but no luck so i'm just wondering if anyone here has had the same problem and if so could they point me in the right direction and yes checked all the settings ...........a big thanks in advance

    Do you have line sync in the settings showing that ADSL is active?

    Username/password correct in upper or lower case?

    thanks for the help admin as it turns out telstra don't support netgear modems

    Not completely true about netgear, unfortunately they don't support that model.

    Does not supporting it stop it working? (is there some hardware related reason it wont work? )I am with Telstra and use a Netgear modem thats not supplied by them.

    true, but I have the same unit, and it works perfectly with telstra, firstly does the ADSL globe show a constant strong green light? if youve put in the correct username and password it should be right to connect to the interent, if the light is solid i'm inclined to think its a computer error,open network and sharing center , click on local area connection ,click properties,double click on interent protocol version 4, make sure obtain IP address automatically is tick as well as obtain DNS server then click ok, see how you go

    thanks joezep for the link very useful and snookums you may have just solved the problem for me will have crack at it the first chance i get and let you all know how it goes and i'm running a belkin n150 at the moment with no hassles

    footnote ( snookums checked the network settings on pc and they were fine the modem now wont sync so far as i'm concerned it's kaput and thanks again for your's and joezep's and admin's help
