    Default Firmware/rom for m2618-v2.2ddr128+flash4gb+fm

    hey guys,

I ve bricked my GPS while playing around, I was trying to change the ugly main menu & boot screen, now it says pmp.exe not found while booting.

It has Win CE 6 on it and a 7 inch 800x480 touchscreen
    Hardware: M2618-V2.2DDR128+FLASH4GB+FM
    Original ROM: 84.HM.E.NE-5.020121023

I ve googled and found a lot of V912 stuff but this doesnt work.

Where can I download the correct firmware?
It should include a bootloader for the SD-Card.

I was able to change the bootscreen but this doesn't fix my problem.
Still "Cannot find 'pmp' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all the required libraries are available." Showing on the bootscreen.

GPS CE 6.0 Rescue Disk also won't work (although it works on another working device)

Anyone an idea how to make a bootable SD-Card or how to start WIN CE in safe mode?
I would try to delete the pmp.exe autorun key in the registry.

As far as I know there's no 'safe mode' in Windows CE.

What was seen on original bootscreen image? Red car and white windmill (=> MTK)? Mini Cooper in the middle (=> Apical)? A little girl in a cartoon version (=> YF)?

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

If it's a YF device (as assumed) then try:
1.Create a text file called YFGo2CE.bld. The file's contents can be anything but must be at least 1 byte.
2.Copy the YFGo2CE.bld file to the root directory of the SD card.
    3.Insert SD card into GPS.
4.Power off (not sleep) the GPS, then switch it back on.
You should have access to WinCE. If this also doesn't work then you can use your GPS as a paper weight.

    ---------------------------------
    Only for curiosity's sake:
What did you do to get to this state? Error message is "Cannot find 'pmp' (or one of its components)." ?
FYI: File "pmp.exe" (located in a hidden partition named ResidentFlash2) is responsible for the execution of the menu.

    hey thanks for your reply!

yeah it was the red mr2 infront of the windmill and right now the only thing I can do is change the bootscreen. I also tried the mtk flash and reset user data tool but can't establish a USB link. I think the USB drivers aren't loaded at this stage when the error occur.

I can't say which rom bricked the unit sorry, I thought nothing can go wrong if I note the Original ROM for later reflashing

    update:
I tried the firmware from The Chinese GPS Firmware Thread post #1624, but only the bootscreen was changed and after that the pmp error still occur.
