Problem accessing McDonalds 'Free WiFi'

I took the new Galaxy TAB3 with us today to try out the GPS that I had recently installed and it worked fantastically and after doing a bit of shopping, we stopped at the local Mickey 'D's for lunch and I tried to use the 'Free Wifi'.
This was the first time I had tried to use the Wifi there on any devise and the first for this Tablet but while it said it was 'connected', I kept getting 'Network error' messages.
I have a Wifi manager App and it showed the signal was good and the tablet was connected to the Wifi ok.
Its over 2 years ago since I used a L/top at another McDonalds many miles from here and it was fairly slow and I had to log in to 'Accept their T&C's', which I never saw this time.

I have heard the Wifi with McDonalds isnt great and I expected a slow loading and limited access but this just wouldnt work at all.
This place isnt that large and at a glance I only saw a couple of people with mobiles and nothing else so I dont think the system was overloaded.

They come in 2.4 and 5 inch

I went supersize actually , 10.1 inch as size does matter they say...............

I think once you are connected you go to your browser and it will automatically redirect you to the T&S agreement. Or at least that's what happened to me the times that I tried to use it.

I have had little success with my local maccas wifi for a while.

I recon that it fails and no one cares. Most have good data plans on their phones so
Never bother about free wifi.

That didnt happen so obviously either it wasnt working properly or I was doing it wrong and I suspect the latter, me as usual...........

That's strange. Every McDs I go to seems to work. Have you tested on any other devices like your phone?

Sorry leahcim, my mobile isnt smart,clever or internet enabled as I am one of the dinosaurs who'se mobile, when its used, is just used to make calls only when necessary.
You will find this hard to believe but I have never sent or received a Text message nor do I intend to.

Ive used Wifi at McDonalds numerous times, never had a problem. The McDonalds were relatively big ones though, so they may have a better internet connection than some of the smaller ones. I much prefer going to cafes though for my cup of coffee, much more relaxing than annoying kids around.

I do like that but then me Phablet dont have a SIM card slot so its back to drawing board....
