Hi guys.
Any computer geeks out there that can help me with a problem I’m having with my laptop,
It’s got windows 7 and when it downloads updates it fails to configure them.
I’ve tried to Google the problem but I’m getting nowhere. Any ideas?

i read that you nearly need to install each manually as its a certain update that needs to be last
1 guy said it took him 90 minutes to fix it lol
ive got a good 80 or so backed up, i dont care, my av & firewall & mwb kills anything any joey's try to hit me with
i fixed one the other week with a constant reboot on startup because the updates wouldnt install
system restore was the only fix

That's really weird. I would try and repair your install from the win 7 disc.

I'm wondering why OP didn't create a system image, which contains a copy of Windows and copies of his programs, system settings, and files. We all know doing so the system image is then stored in a separate location from the original programs, settings, and files. And we all know this "backup" can be done from within Windows 7, no 3rd party tools needed.
You can use this image to restore the contents of your computer if your hard disk or entire computer ever stops working.
BTW: Same functionality is inbuilt in Windows 8 (8.1)
Even if you don't know much about Windows 7 (backing up a stable system of course should be a basic task each one should can perform, LOL) you can be told that you aren't alone with the issue you have: The Microsoft Community has started on September 10, 2013 a thread "Updates trying to install over and over again" . Probably worthwile to have a look at...
