Finally got it working AT LAST!!!
Solution, well a factory (hard) reset was done by holding buttons 1 and 4 and using the stylus to hit soft reset, hold until restart.
That let me install Tomtom, the map, and then overwrote the meta file with the cracked version the keygen created.
But that gave me a new problem, which apparently is common on the RX5710 as well as the RX5770, sound stopped working. Quick search on google gave me this solution:
And it worked again! So now I have map version 7.20.1868 and TT7 7.450 working fine. Hopefully this will serve to help somebody in the future. On my Ipaq RX5710 TomTom altered 2 PDA files on installation (BtCoreIf.dll & BtSdkCE30.dll). Use ActiveSync to browse to \Windows on PDA rename those files to BtCoreIfOld.dll and BtSdkCE30Old.dll. Reboot Pda and sound should work again.
Anyone had this problem or know why Tomtom modifies these library files?
