Default Tomtom navigator install corrupted, suggestions?

    Hi All

First of all can I just say this forum is a fantastic resource and thanks to everyone who contributes to making it such a useful source of information for people like me.

After spending several hours trying to fix this problem I'm out of ideas and so I'd thought I'd post my problem to see if the experts can help!

I have an IPAQ RX5770 (windows mobile 5, OS 5.1.195) which was happily running TTN6.032 until a few weeks ago, when it stopped loading due to the memory access violation problem.

    Things I've tried;
    1) install TT7.450, original pack and repack 3, map versions 720.1838 and 720.1868. keygened OK.
    2) install TT6.032, map version 675. did not need to keygen.
    3) tried both of the above installing on the built in SD card, and in the RAM my documents

Both versions resulted in error messages, with 1)memory exception and 2) memory access violation. For 1) got as far as choosing the map then crashed, 2) got as far as choose language.

In my research I read up about the executability app. I ran it on the TT file autorun.exe and it said the following DLL's were missing:

    coredll.dll can't be loaded
    aygshell.dll can't be loaded
    CEshell.DLL can't be loaded

Well I managed to get all these here

and put them both in the SD card and windows folder and it made no difference, so I've no idea what is causing the error.

I'd be grateful if anyone could provide any advice to me, I only use my PDA for satnav and if I can't run tomtom then I might as well sell it on ebay so I'm all out of options! Going to Perth in a few weeks and satnav is going to be really helpful.

    Many thanks in advance, Lucky

    Default

Finally got it working AT LAST!!!

Solution, well a factory (hard) reset was done by holding buttons 1 and 4 and using the stylus to hit soft reset, hold until restart.

That let me install Tomtom, the map, and then overwrote the meta file with the cracked version the keygen created.

But that gave me a new problem, which apparently is common on the RX5710 as well as the RX5770, sound stopped working. Quick search on google gave me this solution:

On my Ipaq RX5710 TomTom altered 2 PDA files on installation (BtCoreIf.dll & BtSdkCE30.dll). Use ActiveSync to browse to \Windows on PDA rename those files to BtCoreIfOld.dll and BtSdkCE30Old.dll. Reboot Pda and sound should work again.
And it worked again! So now I have map version 7.20.1868 and TT7 7.450 working fine. Hopefully this will serve to help somebody in the future.

Anyone had this problem or know why Tomtom modifies these library files?
