Don't know what's on your device but you will need a apk installer and a file manager of some sort
Once you have them its just download the apk if you can find them and installing
Hi Guys - Wondering if you can help me?
I bought a RoadNav S150 android 2.3 version chinese unit. Its installed & working fine but didn't come with maps.
1. Where can I get the latest working compatible iGo app & maps (primo and my way) for this unit for australia?
2. I did have WInCE 5.0 unit before this one with working iGo myway so copied this onto SD card but it won't detect. I suppose the problem is because the unit is android so it doesn't recognise igo.exe & needs igo.apk?
3. If I just download iGo.apk for android, can I use the rest of the folders/maps from my WinCE based maps? Are the folders same with content?
Thanks
Shal

iGo maps are the same for windows and Android unit. Just get an apk and copy maps from your win ce unit. It should work, at least it works on my Android SGS3.
I am surprised you got no maps with your S150, BTW.
Thanks fromaron. The supplier says they don't send maps & I have to buy them. I will try finding the apk file but for the rest, can I copy all files from win ce igo folder or only selective (Ex: I see, audio, branding, data, license, content, igo.exe, dll files etc.,). Also, my unit says 800x480 resolution. What file should I check to confirm or edit to my resolution?
You only need to find the right apk suitable for 800x480 resolution. There are few links posted here so have a look. After the installation you simply copy the Content directory from your old CE installation to the SD card of S150. That should give you the good start.
Tried your suggestions but no luck. Here's some info:
1. I downloaded & installed 800x480 resolution apk file, copied ONLY content directory from wince working iGo maps folder. The sdcard is detected but I get "please insert all iGO content" on the unit so I can't proceed further. So it appears it needs more files/directories other than content dir?
2. I installed iGo apk file. The copied ALL files off wince working igo maps onto the sdcard & tested. iGo is installed successfully but when opening up, the error comes up as "user interface resolution 9480x295] is not supported or compatible skin can not be found. Exiting application". I am not sure where its taking this info from as I already checked sys file, branding & data directories.
Need help, Thanks
Update - Issue one is resolved. Issue no. 2 now exists "user interface resolution [480x295] is not supported or compatible skin cannot be found" on my android 2.3 OS chinese unit when I open iGO my way.
You need a data.zip containing that resolution or tweak the sys.txt to use 480x320 for the data.
There should also be some data.zip's containing 480x272 which can be tried as well.
And before you try anything with skins get the basic program working

No luck. My data.zip already contains folders starting from 240_240 resolution until 800_480 so I assume this cover the resolution my unit is after? There's also 480x272 in this folder.
1. How do I tweak to force it to use the resolution I am after? OR
2. Where is the above error coming from? What directly is it looking that I can possibly delete? I have completely deleted sys.txt file to let it create new but no luck still.
3. Does anyone have these working directories to match mine?
Thanks
What does your sys.txt say?

Here's my sys.txt contents. The above is a working file from my wince5.0 device with 7'' screen. Now I have upgraded it to android 2.3 with 8''. I downloaded 800x480 apk file which installed successfully but gets the error upon startup.

Downunder will direct you with the setup, no doubt about it. I only can recommend to delete the sys.txt file or rename it to something like sys.old and try again. Android version worked on my Android phone without any sys.txt files just perfect. I used it later on to fine-tune certain features.
Still no luck. I will just give up on iGo & will try iGo Primo & see if that works as I hear Primo is better than iGo myway. Thanks.
This where you have to be correct:
[rawdisplay]
class="landscape"
highres=1
screen_x=800
screen_y=480
Change highres=0 and set the X and Y values to the pysical resolution of your screen.
[interface]
skin="ui_igo8"
resolution_dir="400_240"
vga=1
laneinfo_signpost_enabled=1
resolution_dir= should be set to the correct values from the data.zip, e.g. ="800x480"

Thanks Downunder, will try & let you know how I go.
Tried the above but still the same issue unfortunately. I suspect perhaps data.zip file is incorrect. I also installed Primo (not sure if I can copy primo's data.zip to replace iGo's data.zip) & its running well except few hiccups so I will just use Primo as its better anyways. Thanks for all your help, appreciated.
I suspect the apk version you tried wasn't right or suitable for your S150. I can't test it now as I don't have mine yet. I will get some more information once I get my S150 in a month time. Hopefully I can provide more information on the setup then.
Thanks fromaron - I love my S150 as its much quicker than my old unit with more flexibility. iPrimo is working fine on this except few hurdles with TTS voices. Installed tomtom as well. No sound but maps work fine. Overall, I am impressed. Would love to see your feedback & maps when you get yours.
The unit I am buying comes with iGo Primo installed, so maybe this is the only compatible apk available.
I intend to install my copy of TomTom as well, so what is the problem with sound?
TT should work with proper sound on Android - if there is a real problem it won't start at all.
And for Primo/Igo : when searching for a version don't get too confused with the version numbers!
A higher version number does not always mean a better version.
In fact the last digits more or less define for what type of device it was designed.
You can't just buy Igo or Primo as they all come preinstalled, so if one version only causes stress, try a different one even if the version numer is lower - most likely you won't see a difference anyway, except maybe for a different start up screen.
