Default Can you install any of the previous Windows OS on Windows 8?

I have been using Windows 8 for a few weeks, and I have been having trouble navigating through the homescreen because I don't really like the interface. At first, I don't really know where the shutdown menu is, which it probably took me a few hours to figure out. Also, I think Windows 8 is a downgrade version of Windows 7, which Windows 7 is one of my favorite Windows OS that I have ever used so far. Can you install back any of the previous Windows OS on Windows 8?

Apparently it is a specialist thing to downgrade especially on toshiba laptops as instead of bios they have UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface).

Technically seen Windows 8 is a major upgrade to Windows 7.

Just install Classic Shell on your Windows 8 and you'll have your Start button and menu back

I cannot agree with you that Windows 8 is a downgrade of Windows 7. The reason why you are having problems with it is because Windows 8 is optimized for touch devices. For this reason, there is an upgrade Windows 8.1 which has the missing features of Windows 8 to make it more easy to use. Yes you can still install Windows 7 it will work.

Already in September 2012 at XDA a convenient way to "power manage" your Windows 8/8.1 PC was pointed out:

If interested in such a "right-click-solution" here you go:
